Each year during Engineers Week, the Hawaii Council of Engineering Societies (HCES) organizes display exhibits that help to increase public awareness and appreciation of the engineering profession. For 2012, we will be focusing on “the future of engineering” once again. Professional engineering societies, consulting engineering firms & manufacturing companies, and student groups from the University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM) will display projects that they have worked on and/or entered in competitions. The purpose of the displays and interactive exhibits sponsored by HCES during Engineers Week is to improve the public image of the engineering profession and to stimulate qualified students in public and private schools to choose careers in engineering and in related science fields.
