Joseph K. Ting, P.E., P.Eng., CxA

HCES Chair

Joseph received his graduate degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and his undergraduate degree from De La Salle University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. His specialization is in Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer. He is registered as a mechanical engineer in the State of Hawaii, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the State of New York and the Canadian Province of Ontario. Since 2009, he is an ACG Certified Commissioning Authority nationwide. He is a past president of ASHRAE Hawaii Chapter (2008-09), past regional director of ASHRAE Region I (1994-97), past president of ASHRAE Northeast Chapter (1991-92), past president of MIT Alumni Association in Capital District of New York (1992-94), past director of Habitat for Humanity (2001-04), life member of General Society of Mechanics & Tradesmen; member of National Society of Professional Engineers, Canadian Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the American Society of Heating Refrigerating & Air-conditioning Engineers. He is currently an engineering staff in the Construction Services of InSynergy Engineering, Inc.

Jeoffrey S. Cudiamat, P.E.

HCES Chair-Elect

A valedictorian of Pearl City High School, class of 1992; and a 1996 graduate of a Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Southern California (USC). At USC, he was a founding father of the first and only Filipino-American fraternity in America, Zeta Phi Rho. After USC, Jeoffrey began work as a Project Manager for PAMCO Contracting. He then worked as a Structural Engineer at SSFM International. While at SSFM, he attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa for a Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering. After SSFM, Jeoffrey worked two years for the Federal Government as an in-house Structural Engineer for the Navy Public Works. Currently, Jeoffrey has two (2) licenses as a Professional Structural and Civil Engineer. He is also a Certified Special Inspector for the City and County of Honolulu and is also a PADI certified scuba diver.

Grant Torigoe

HCES Secretary

Grant is a Network Engineer with Hawaiian Telcom Inc. His responsibilities there include working with developers, consultants, and contractors to provision telecommunications cabling & infrastructure to various projects. He is a graduate from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering. He is currently the HCES representative from the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers and has held various executive positions with the State Chapter.

Samuel Dannaway, PE, C.S.P.

HCES Treasurer

Sam founded S. S. Dannaway Associates, Inc., in 1985 and today serves as President and Chief Fire Protection Engineer of the 15-person fire protection engineering consulting firm. The firm has made significant contributions to the fire safety of Hawaii's built environment through design and through support of fire protection education of Hawaii's engineers, fire service, and fire protection community. Dannaway currently serves as a principal member on NFPA 101 Technical Committee on health-Care Occupancies. He received his B.S. in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland and is a Registered Fire Protection Engineer (California) and a Registered Mechanical Engineer (Hawaii, California, Guam, and Washington). He is Past-President and Board of Directors of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (National and Hawaii Chapter), and past chair of the Hawaii Council of Engineering Societies.
